It's nice to meet you!

................

I’m Dr. Sumera Shaikh Solaiman, MD. I’m a board certified pediatrician, board certified sleep medicine physician, former Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania, and a mom of 2.

After training and working at two of the largest and most well respected pediatric medical centers in the world, I’ve started Baby Doctor MD to help parents survive and thrive through one of the most exciting and most overwhelming periods of time – the newborn period!

I created Baby Doctor MD to fill a gap that exists for expectant parents. You don’t meet with a pediatrician to ask all your questions about newborn care until AFTER your baby arrives. But being taught all the important aspects of newborn care BEFORE your delivery is best, so when baby arrives, you feel prepared and empowered from day 1.

From setting up good sleep habits for your baby, to discussing breastfeeding basics, to ensuring safety for your newborn at home, I want to share what is most important for new parents to know, to be prepared for their newborn baby's arrival - from the perspective of a pediatrician and sleep doctor.
